About Duna World

Duna Television’s Duna2 channel transforms as of 1 January 2012 into Duna World. The channel continues to be available with unaltered reception parameters on the European Eutelsat satellite Eurobird 9A, on GlobeCast's World TV platform, in the IPTV package of EuroTV Inc. Canada, as well as free to air on satellite in South-America, Australia and New Zealand. For further information on the channel's reception please visit our RECEPTION PARAMETERS article below.

In the place of Duna2, Duna World will be launched on 1 January 2012 with a renewed and dynamic programming structure, containing public service programmes that transmit value and tradition. Its primary task will be to inform and entertain viewers within and outside the borders of Hungary.

Parallely to the restuctured Hungarian public service media, Duna World transforms into a carefully and individually structured channel that strives to transmit the best of Hungarian public service channels (Duna TV, m1 and m2).

According to its mission, the 24-hour channel spreads Hungarian culture through its up-to-date news, cultural and entertainment programmes. A wide-ranging selection of international film classics, old Hungarian movies and theatre broadcasts will be available to viewers in prime time. Duna World follows a unique aim among Hungarian public service channels: parallely to transmitting Hungarian culture and public service programming, the channel connects European and overseas viewers with Hungary through regularly updated current affairs programmes and the latest news on economy.
